Hunter McKithan Band Bio

The Hunter McKithan Band is a rising force in the Texas/Red Dirt music scene. With well-seasoned songwriting skills to back up their gifted musical and instrumental talents, HMB can be counted on to put on an energetic and rousing live performance. Their original tunes will have you on your feet from beginning to end, bobbing your head or maybe even dropping the proverbial tear in your beer.

The guys released their debut album, Shape of It All, late in the summer of 2007 and have sent several singles to the top requested lists of TOSSM Radio and Radio Free Texas (both internet radio programs.) The title track has been selectively chosen to be on the 3rd volume of the Lone Star Music CD Sampler. The sampler is a compilation of the best tunes from artists new to Lone Star Music. 5,000 copies are made and sent to customers and industry folks every year.

While trying to classify HMB into a single genre may be difficult, their influences range from Classic, Modern, and Southern Rock to Blues and Country. The four piece band of vocalist Hunter McKithan, drummer Smitty McAllister, bassist Jason Nelson and guitarist Russell Johnson have defined their own style and play real, honest music that will capture the audience immediately.

In their home territory, the Hunter McKithan Band has already built a solid, loyal fan base that has proven over and over that they are willing to travel to see their favorite band. From Galveston to San Antonio and points in between, HMB is drawing familiar faces as well as bringing in new fans at every show. Catching the Hunter McKithan Band live is a treat you owe yourself whether you’re a fan of good music, a fan of love and love lost, or just a fan of life.
